Pro-Noctis - 200 Degrees Coffee - Hargreaves Contracting selected for Tour of Britain Women
We’re delighted to announce today that we’ve been selected to race in next month’s Tour of Britain Women, the Women’s World Tour level stage race.
The four stages of the UCI Women’s World Tour race take in routes from Welshpool to Llandudno, around Wrexham, Warrington and Leigh to Greater Manchester, between June 6th and 9th.
Renowned for huge crowds and action-packed racing, the Tour of Britain Women will see the biggest names in world cycling including World Champion Lotte Kopecky racing on British soil and we’ll be looking to stand out in peloton, on an international stage.
The Lincoln team have been one of the most successful women’s cycling teams in the UK since their creation in 2021, winning national series and individual races.
Whilst we’ve been focussed on this year's National Road Series, Rick reacted to the news from British Cycling;
“We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to compete in this high-profile race, when applying for our UCI licence the Tour of Britain was a huge objective, for us, it’s a great opportunity to raise the profile of the team and sponsors in front of a global TV audience with the aim of attracting new sponsors for the coming seasons.
For us as a team this will be a very special race, and we’ll enjoy every moment of racing at this level.”
Jo added;
“As a rider it is always a big moment to race a race of this size in your own country. I rode the inaugural Women’s Tour in 2014 and several additions of the Tour De Yorkshire, in no other races have we had such incredible road-side support from fans of all ages, including all the schools we pass”
We will, of course, be sharing much more news about this very exciting announcement shortly, including a full preview of the Tour and details of our preparations, watch this space!
